TEGAM Building

TEGAM, Inc. is based in suburban Cleveland, Ohio and specializes in the design, manufacture and support of a wide variety of test, measurement and calibration instruments. The company was founded in 1979 and is managed by Andy Brush (abrush@tegam.com), CEO and Adam Fleder (afleder@tegam.com), President.

Since 1979, TEGAM has developed a wide variety of measurement instrumentation, and has enhanced its internal product development with the acquisition of product lines from a number of well-known companies such as Keithley Instruments, Eaton, Tektronix, Pragmatic Instruments, Weinschel and PPM, Inc..

TEGAM products are marketed throughout the world via its cohesive network of strong technical representatives and distributors in over 40 countries. TEGAM is internationally recognized for its offering of RF power sensor calibration systems, RF attenuation measurement systems, ratio standards, and ohm meters. In addition, the company's supplies LCR meters/impedance bridges, high-voltage amplifiers, MEMS engine driver systems, handheld thermometers, humidity meters, and other test and measurement solutions. In the past year TEGAM has introduced several exciting new products, including our complete calibration system.

Development History

1980

Our first new product, the MR-1 Motor Rotation Indicator.

1986

New digital and microprocessor-based thermometer products to build on the Keithley product line. Today the line is more than double the product count offered by Keithley.

1992

Specialty voltmeters for the electric utility industry.

1993

Handheld temperature calibrator line for process control, test and calibration.

1995

The SR102 high stability 100-Ohm Resistance Transfer Standard is added to the ESI resistance standards platform.

1996

The Model 122 Safety Voltmeter is developed for the electric utility industry.

1996

TEGAM reintroduces the DM511 and DM5110 DMM's to support the TM5000 modular products.

1997

Model SG5050, the world's first 2.5 GHz Leveled Sine wave Generator.

1997

The Model 1750 Resistance Measurement System for high-speed production test. The model 1750 is the fastest micro-ohm meter on the market to date.

2002

The Model 1804 Single Input, Type IV RF Power Meter and Model 1820, RF Mount Heater, are created to supplement TEGAM's Power Sensor Calibration products

2003

TEGAM introduces the Model 1825, a low-cost, 10MHz - 18GHz RF Power Sensor Calibrator.

2003

The 2340/2350 Single or Dual Channel, High Voltage Amplifiers are offered to the MEMS, piezo-electric and special applications markets to meet customer requests for high voltage and low-distortion amplification solutions.

2004

Model 3525, 120Hz/1kHz LCR Meter is introduced as TEGAM's solution for customers in search of a high-performance, low cost, LCR meter.

2004

Model 1827, TEGAM's economical wideband (100kHz- 18GHz) RF Power Sensor Calibrator is launched.

2004

F1130 and M1130, 100kHz to 18GHz, wideband coaxial power transfer standards are introduced to the RF power sensor calibration market.

2004

Wideband coaxial RF power transfer standards, F1135 and M1135 are introduced for frequencies 10MHz to 26.5GHz.

2004

TEGAM introduces the Model 3550, a 42.0-5.00 MHz, Programmable LCR Meter for high frequency component test.

2005

The 9070 MEMS Engine Driver System is launched as an updated version of the 9014.

2005

The Model 2375 High Voltage MEMS Driver Amplifier and the Model 2348 Power Amplifier are added to TEGAM's amplifier line.

2007

TEGAM expands into the field of PXI, with the Model 4040A, Wideband (50MHz) Differential Input Amplifier.

2008

The Model 1830A RF Power Meter is launched. Designed to replace the Agilent 432A, the 1830A achieves the lowest uncertainty RF power measurement available.

2011

TEGAM introduces the 1510A and 2510A Microwave Calibration Standards that are directly traceable to NIST.  Lowest uncertainty of any available CW absolute power sensor.

2012

TEGAM introduces the R1L-E2A bond meter which is the only electrical bonding meter certified to ATEX, UL and CSA intrinsically safe standards.

2013

The Model 1820B RF Mount Temperature Controller provides a stable power source for one or two Precision RF Coaxial Power Standards (mounts).

2013

The Model R1L-BR1 Bond Meter Kit is a purpose built, rechargeable battery powered portable instrument for ground bond measurements.

Acquisition History

1979

TEGAM acquires Syntel Incorporated, a manufacturer of three-phase industrial test products.

1985

TEGAM acquires the handheld thermometer and digital multi meter business of Keithley Instruments and grows it into a successful line of thermometers, handheld temperature calibrators and safety voltmeters.

1991

TEGAM acquires the Gertsch, Singer, AILTech, Cutler-Hammer ratio transformer, synchro-resolver standard, and phase angle voltmeter product lines from Eaton Corporation.

1993

TEGAM acquires the impedance and resistance product lines from ESI, (Electro-Scientific Industries), and now manufactures standard resistors, decade boxes, specialty ohmmeters and LCR meters for metrology, calibration, portable and production test applications.

1995

TEGAM acquires the TM500/5000 product lines from Tektronix. These products include automated oscilloscope calibration equipment and general-purpose test instruments in a compact and modular format.

1997

TEGAM acquires the instrument division of Weinschel Corporation and now manufactures RF and microwave power and attenuation measurement systems. In addition, the System IIA power sensor calibrator products are added to TEGAM’s product line.

2001

TEGAM acquires Analite Inc., a manufacturer of Humidity and Temperature Sensors, Transmitters, Probes, and Controllers.

2002

TEGAM acquires Pragmatic Instruments Inc. a manufacturer of arbitrary waveform generators, voltage standards, MEMS, and custom engineering solutions for unique signal generation and amplification applications.

2010

TEGAM acquires the portable ohmmeter line from PPM Instruments.
