Many signals that need to be measured are outside of the range of the typical PXI digitizer. The 4040B was designed to expand the measurement range by providing a truly differential input with both gain and attenuation capabilities. Now you may easily measure signals in vehicle electrical systems that are not referenced to ground or contain high levels of interference. All functions are fully software selectable and compatible with all known PXI digitizers.
